The Best Ways to Relax & Enjoy the Morning of Your Wedding
Weddings are literally referred to as “The Big Day”, so it’s no wonder that many brides have some butterflies in their stomach the morning of their wedding. All the careful planning comes rushing to the forefront of your mind, the stress kicks in and your perfect day starts off with a less than perfect morning. Instead of starting off your day praying that something won’t go wrong, let’s discuss some ways to make sure you rise and shine on your wedding day feeling relaxed and filled with joy!
Exercise
Typically, when we are feeling stressed or overwhelmed, the last thing we want to do is throw on our work out gear and head to the gym. However, working out in the morning for as little as 20 minutes has been scientifically proven to help ease stress, create feelings of happiness, and enhance your mental clarity. So, before you head to the Bride’s room to put on your wedding dress and make your grand entrance, make sure your mental game is strong by starting off your big day with some physical exercise (consider yoga!).
Get a Massage
Your wedding day is all about celebrating you and your relationship, so take the opportunity to celebrate yourself with one of the ultimate forms of pampering! All the excitement and months of built up tension culminate on one day, and can end up being expressed in all sorts of unpleasant ways. A trip to the spa can be the perfect way to release that tension and prepare your mind and body for a long day of formality, hosting your guests, and hours of busting a move on the dance floor!
Delegate Tasks to Trusted Friends and Family
It’s understandable that you would want to check on every little detail to make sure your day is going as planned, but if your plans also involve relaxing, this creates a bit of a problem. Your bridesmaids and family are there to help, so don’t be afraid to delegate specific tasks. This will take the burden off your shoulders, giving you more time to relax, knowing your most trusted friends have your back.
Prior to your wedding day, we’d recommend making a list of all the tasks that could be delegated, then assign those accordingly. This will give you the chance to make sure everyone is comfortable with the task they’ve been assigned, which will give you the confidence to hand over the reins as your wedding day rolls around.
Spend Some Time with Your Significant Other
Chances are, if you are experiencing some pre-wedding nerves, your significant other is as well. This is a day you have both been anticipating, and the monumental step you are taking is one you are taking together. Reserving some alone time helps you remember the reason you put forth all this effort to begin with; to celebrate the love, commitment and support you have for one another.
If you’re not the superstitious type, or even if you are, set aside the notion of it being bad luck to see the bride before the wedding and enjoy your time together before all the excitement begins.
Fun tip:
We love the idea of waking up early and sharing a cup of coffee together, for the last time as an unmarried couple.
This is Your Day. Enjoy it!
With all the considerations involved, it can be easy to forget that the only two people whose happiness is important on your wedding day is yours and your partner. Things may go amiss, but often times these are the most memorable parts of your wedding. Be confident in the knowledge that you did everything you possibly could to make this an incredible day, and try not to worry about the things that you can’t control. Take a deep breath, figure out which method of relaxation is the best fit for you, and enjoy your big day!
